Introduction:

Juzear has partnered with Zeos of Z Reviews to release the Juzear x Z Reviews Defiant, a new In-Ear Monitor featuring a 1DD+3BA hybrid driver configuration that was developed in over six months with six rounds of sample adjustments. Below is an overview of its design, features, and technical specifications.

Development Background:

The Defiant is a collaboration between Juzear, a HiFi audio brand, and input that included guidance from Zeos of Z Reviews. The tuning aimed for a specific sound profile featuring controlled bass, clear mids, and smooth treble, informed by this collaborative process.

Driver Configuration:

The Defiant features a four-driver hybrid setup per side:

A 10mm third-generation dynamic driver with a PU composite diaphragm and Neodymium magnet, designed for deep bass with low distortion.
Three Balanced Armature (BA) drivers: a dual composite BA for midrange and a customized BA for high frequencies, aiming for clarity and natural treble extension.

Acoustic and Crossover Design:

The Defiant uses a three-way crossover with four damped acoustic tubes to manage sound distribution and minimize multi-driver distortion. A gold-plated PCB crossover circuit supports frequency separation. The acoustic structure includes a micro-perforation pressure balance system to enhance comfort by reducing in-ear pressure.

Build and Design:

The ear shells are DLP 3D-printed using skin-friendly resin for an ergonomic fit. The faceplates are CNC-milled with nickel metal accents and come in two color options: Rainbow and Jade Green. The design prioritizes comfort for extended wear, though fit may vary by user.

Juzear x Flare stock:

The Defiant includes a Juzear x Flare stock cable with a 6N SPOCC+SCCW hybrid structure (70 strands per conductor, 280 total). It features 0.78mm 2-pin connectors and interchangeable 3.5mm and 4.4mm termination plugs, offering compatibility with various audio devices.
