LYPERTEK TEVI True Wireless IEM Review

Introduction:

LYPERTEK is a Chinese brand that has released some budget friendly In-Ear Monitors like the MEVI and the BEVI. The LYPERTEK TEVI that I will now review for you is first True Wireless IEM of the company and features a 6mm diameter single dynamic driver with graphene diaphragm, Bluetooth 5.0, IPX7 Sweat & Dirt certification and offers 10 hours of playback time with a single charge.

The Design, Build Quality, Fit & Comfort:

The LYPERTEK TEVI is a True Wireless IEM that features a Single Dynamic Driver with a 6mm Graphene Diaphragm.

The outer shell of the monitors is made of plastic and has a fairly ergonomic shape which fits perfectly to my ears with an average size. The use of lightweight material and pretty small form factor makes the TEVI to an ideal earphone for long listening periods, while the isolation is on an average level.

On the front of the monitors shell is the multifunctional button with the LYPERTEK logo and TEVI branding, where you can also find a small LED light.

Close to this action button is the microphone of the TEVI that works for cVc 8.0 Noise Cancelling, Echo Cancellation and Noise Suppression.

At the back side of the shell are the charging connectors, the left/right markings and the sound nozzle.

The sound nozzle is located in this area which has a fine filter on the top that prevents the insertion of unwanted particles like dust, ear-wax, etc.

The LYPERTEK TEVI comes with a small carrying & charging case which looks very stylish with its fabric coated surface. On the top of the charging case is the LYPERTEK logo in black color.

The case is pretty small and lightweight and has a charging capacity of 800mAh which can fully charge each monitor for about 6 times.

At the right corner of this case is a lanyard in black color.

When you open the case you will see the seats for the Wireless Monitors, the Left / Right markings and LYPERTEK brand logo which is printed in white color.

On the front are four LED dots that lights up in white when you put the monitors in to the seats or if you connect it o the charger.

At the backside of the case is the USB-Type C charging port.

These seats have a magnetic surface to ensure the right connection for the charging process and to avoid any drop out of the monitors.

Battery Life:

Each monitor of the LYPERTEK TEVI has a build in battery which offers a playtime of approx 9 Hours (Volume 60% Bluetooth Codec – SBC) while listening to music, which is a pretty good result for such a small True Wireless In-Ear Monitor.

Pairing, Navigation, Signal Strength & Call Quality:

The pairing of the LYPERTEK TEVI with your source is pretty easy. You only need to turn on the left and right monitors ON for the first time by pressing the Multi Functional Button (in short MBF button) for 3 seconds. To start the pairing mode of the TEVI, you need to double click the MFB button 2 times. After you have pair the left and right monitors by the first use the pairing action will be done automatically. You only need to take it out from the charging box/case at the same time.

A nice feature is that the TEVI monitors will power on automatically when you remove them from the charging case and will turn off and begin recharging automatically when you place them back in the charging case.

The operating distance of the LYPERTEK TEVI is about 10 meters, while the connection is in most cases fairly stabile.

The call quality of the TEVI while paired with my Samsung Galaxy S9 Plus was on an average level, while the voice transmission was neither crystal clear nor too muddy.

The Sound:

The LYPERTEK TEVI shows a good subbass depth and extension for a True Wireless IEM. The subbass region has a soft and slightly warm tonality. It is not very dominant and shows an average amount and emphasis. The subbass character will maybe not satisfy those who like a very deep subbass presentation, but should be enough for most users.

The midrange on the other hand has good intensity and impact. The midbass speed that is produced by the relative small 6mm graphene diaphragm driver has sufficient speed and is fairly good control, with no remarkable negative situations like mixings or midbass hump.

The midrange of the TEVI is slightly warmish, fairly soft and smooth in its presentation, while it offers a good level of resolution for a True Wireless IEM in this price category. The midrange is not too laid back or to upfront.

Male vocals have an average thickness and depth without to show any annoying mixings and muddiness. Female vocals on the other hand have more clarity and better detail retrieval compared to male vocals and doesn’t show any remarkable sibilance or harshness.

Instruments like guitars are a bit warmer than neutral, while pianos are bright but fairly controlled in the upper register.

The LYPERTEK TEVI has a good upper midrange emphasis, which has a close to natural tonality. The upper midrange is quite transparent and spacious, with fairly controlled transitions.

The upper treble range of the LYPERTEK TEVI is more pronounced than the lower treble region, while it shows an average performance in terms of extension. The treble quantity, intensity and sharpness are successful, while the overall treble presentation is controlled and fatigue-free, with moderate level of airiness.

Soundstage: 

The soundstage performance of the LYPERTEK TEVI is pretty good for a True Wireless IEM, while the stage has slightly more width than its depth.

Conclusion:

The relative small (6mm) graphene diaphragm driver of the LYPERTEK TEVI delivers a well tuned sound with its fast and controlled bass response, good midrange clarity and forgiving treble presentation, while the stylish battery case, the IPX7 certification and the good battery life are also some remarkable features of this True Wireless IEM.
