SIMGOT SuperMix 4 Review
SIMGOT SuperMix 4 Review
Introduction:
SIMGOT was founded in 2013 by a team of audio engineers who were passionate about creating IEMs that could deliver accurate and natural sound. Since then, the company has grown to become one of the most respected brands in the audiophile community. SIMGOT IEMs are typically made with high-quality materials, such as metal shells and premium cables. They often use multiple drivers, such as Balanced Armature (BA) drivers and dynamic drivers.
The SIMGOT SuperMix 4 is engineered with a complex driver configuration, aiming to deliver a refined audio experience on a budget. At its core is a four-driver hybrid configuration, incorporating dynamic, balanced armature, planar magnetic, and piezoelectric transducers (1DD+1BA+1Planar+1PZT). This unique combination is designed to provide a wide frequency response and detailed sound reproduction.
To optimize the performance of these diverse drivers, the SuperMix 4 utilizes a sophisticated acoustic design. This includes independent sound paths and an RC four-way crossover to minimize phase distortion. Furthermore, the earphones feature 3D-printed resin housings and CNC-machined metal parts to ensure precise acoustic chambers for each driver. The SuperMix 4 includes a detachable 0.78mm 2-pin cable featuring oxygen-free copper (OFC) silver-plated conductors and a 3.5mm headphone termination.

The SuperMix 4 presents a minimalist aesthetic with a black resin shell housing the driver configuration. This material choice offers a balance of durability and visual appeal.

The SuperMix 4 is equipped with a Quad Hybrid Driver configuration consisting of one 10mm Dynamic Driver, one Balanced Armature Driver, one Planar Magnetic Driver, and one PZT (piezoelectric transducer).
On the top of the monitor shells are the 2-Pin female connector that do offer a tight connection. Near the 2-pin connectors, there is a second, smaller acoustic port encircled by a ring in copper color.
The inner surface has a glossy piano black finish. Here is the sound nozzle with 3 openings that are connected to the drivers with acoustic tubes.
At the rear surface of the monitors is the SuperMix 4 branding and the L/R markings.
The SIMGOT SuperMix 4 comes with a detachable cable that features silver-plated OFC (Oxygen-Free Copper) wire material for improved signal transmission.
The 0.78mm diameter 2-pin male connectors do have a metal housing with color indicators, with blue for left and red for right channel.
The cable is equipped with a 3.5mm headphone plug housed in metal casing with the SIMGOT branding on the top, while a transparent strain relief adds extra durability.
The build quality of both the monitors and the cable is not class leading pretty fine at this price point.

The Sound:
The SIMGOT SuperMix 4 delivers a well-balanced sonic performance that caters to a wide range of musical preferences. Its sound signature is characterized by a robust and engaging low-end, a clear and natural midrange, and a detailed yet smooth treble presentation. The SuperMix 4 strikes a commendable balance between impact and control, offering a satisfying listening experience across various genres.
Testing Methods & Equipment’s:
This review is based on approximately 70 hours of burn-in using the stock cable and silicone ear tips included in the package. My sound impressions below are mainly based on using the FiiO M23 (DAP) and ONIX Alpha XI1 (DAC/AMP Dongle) as my main sources.
Bass:
The SIMGOT SuperMix 4 delivers a bass response that is both impactful and controlled, offering a satisfyingly deep and punchy low-end experience. Subbass extension is commendable, providing a solid foundation for bass-heavy genres like Pop, Rock, EDM, and Hip-Hop. Integration of the bass into the overall sound signature is well-executed, preventing it from overpowering the midrange frequencies. While it may not attain the reference-level depth or detail of some higher-end models, the SuperMix 4 undoubtedly offers a robust and enjoyable bass performance. Tracks like Massive Attack’s “Angel”, Daft Punk’s “Doin’ it Right” and Lorde’s “Royals” showcase the SuperMix 4’s ability to deliver a pretty deep and satisfying low-end experience.
Midrange:
The SIMGOT SuperMix 4 presents a clear and natural midrange, characterized by quite natural vocal reproduction and well-defined instrument timbre. The slightly forward positioning of the midrange enhances detail retrieval, contributing to an engaging and involving listening experience. This characteristic may vary in preference among listeners, but it generally improves overall clarity. Instruments within the midrange frequency spectrum are rendered with a good sense of body and realism for a IEM at this price level. The midrange performance is exemplified in tracks like Norah Jones’ “Don’t Know Why” and David Bowie’s “Heroes,” where vocals and instruments are reproduced with god amount of clarity, naturalness and resolution.
Treble:
The SIMGOT SuperMix 4’s treble response is well-executed, striking a balance between detail and smoothness. Treble extension is adequate, contributing to an airy and open soundstage. The inclusion of sparkle and airiness enhances the perception of space and instrument separation. While the treble performance may not match the refinement of dedicated treble-oriented IEMs, it complements the SuperMix 4’s overall tuning effectively. The treble performance is showcased in tracks like Metallica’s “Dyers Eve,” where the cymbals and high-frequency details are accurately represented.
Soundstage & Imaging:
The SuperMix 4 creates a respectable soundstage characterized by good width and depth. Instruments are precisely positioned within the soundstage, offering a nice sense of space and layering. The soundstage contributes to the overall openness and airiness of the headphone. This is particularly evident in tracks like Yosi Horikawa ‘s “Bubbles,” where the SuperMix 4 effectively creates a sense of space and separation.
Comparison:
SIMGOT SuperMix 4 vs. Truthear NOVA:
The SIMGOT SuperMix 4 delivers a notably impactful and controlled bass response, offering a satisfyingly deep and punchy low-end experience. Its sub-bass extension is particularly impressive, making it a strong contender for bass-heavy genres. The Truthear NOVA also presents a respectable bass performance with good depth, though it doesn’t quite match the SuperMix 4’s level of decay and contol.
Both the SuperMix 4 and the NOVA offer competent midrange performances. However, the SuperMix 4’s slightly forward midrange positioning provides a more engaging and detailed presentation. Vocals and instruments are reproduced with a natural timbre and good body. While the NOVA’s midrange is smooth and pleasant, it lacks some of the clarity and detail offered by its SuperMix 4.
The treble performance of both IEMs is commendable. The SuperMix 4 strikes a balance between detail and smoothness, resulting in an airy and open atmosphere. The NOVA also delivers a refined treble response, though the SuperMix 4’s slightly more extended treble adds a touch of extra sparkle and airiness.
The SuperMix 4 creates a more expansive and immersive soundstage compared to the Truthear NOVA. Instruments are precisely positioned, and the sense of space is well-defined. The NOVA offers a competent soundstage, but it doesn’t quite match the SuperMix 4’s level of separation.
Conclusion:
The SIMGOT SuperMix 4 is a compelling package that successfully marries complex engineering with a well-tuned sound signature. Its quad hybrid driver configuration and intricate acoustic design are evident in the IEM’s ability to deliver a balanced, engaging, and detailed audio experience. The SuperMix 4 offers a strong value proposition, providing a taste of excellent audio engineering at a more accessible price point. While it may not redefine the category, it certainly stands out as a capable and enjoyable contender in its price range.
