ddHiFi BC130 Nyx Net Review

ddHiFi BC130 Nyx Net Review
Introduction:
ddHiFi (DD Electronics Technology Co. Ltd.) is a Chinese company founded in 2017 that specializes in designing and manufacturing audio accessories for enthusiasts. Their product range includes earphone lines (like the Janus Series), portable cases for digital audio players (DAPs), digital-to-analog converter (DAC) and amplifier (AMP) adapters, cables, and other related products.
The BC130 Nyx Net is ddHiFi’s latest earphone upgrade cable. This cable is designed to offer versatility and improve audio performance. It is constructed with high-purity single crystal copper and features a woven shield, enhancing its ability to deliver high-fidelity audio with minimal distortion.
The Nyx Net supports ddHiFi’s replaceable connectors, including MMCX, and 3 types of 0.78-2Pin, making it compatible with a wide range of earphones. Additionally, the cable is available with a ddHiFi standard 4.4mm balanced plug and a Pentaconn branded 4.4mm balanced headphone plug.

The actual price of the ddHiFi BC130 Nyx Net upgrade cable varies depending on the version. The Standard 4.4mm Plug version is priced at $399.99, while the Pentaconn OCC Plug version is priced at $449.99. More information can be found under the link below.
Package & Accessories:
The ddHiFi BC130 Nyx Net arrives in a rectangular box with a minimalist design. The outer box is white with “Nyx Net” printed in a large, elegant font on the top, along with the ddHiFi logo and the motto “Life and HiFi.”
Inside of the box are the following Items/Accessories:
- 1x ddHiFi BC130 Nyx Net Upgrade Cable

The packaging box contains a small, rectangular case with rounded edges. The case has a light, speckled texture and features the “ddHiFi” brand name and the slogan “Life and HiFi” printed in brown text.
The cable organizer and the Nyx Pin removal tool are some nice additions.
Design & Build Quality:
The ddHiFi BC130 Net (Nyx Net) arrived as an earphone upgrade cable promising enhanced audio performance for compatible earphones. The use of a high-purity single crystal copper conductor and a woven shield suggests a focus on delivering high-fidelity audio with minimal distortion – a claim I was eager to put to the test.
Right out of the box, the cable impressed with its material choices. The titanium alloy components and the fiber mesh sleeve feel premium and well-integrated. The combination aims for a sweet spot between convenience, softness, and durability, and in my hands, it largely succeeds. The fiber mesh sleeve not only gives the cable a comfortable feel but also adds to its perceived robustness. I also found the cable itself to be notably soft and tangle-free, which is a big plus for daily use.
The braided design of the BC130 Nyx Net is well-executed. The woven shield not only adds to the aesthetic appeal but also contributes to the cable’s overall durability and flexibility. The desert-colored high-density nylon braided mesh covering gives it a distinct and, in my opinion, attractive look.
Taking a closer look at the internals, the Nyx Net’s core structure borrows from the Nyx Pro’s design. The 1:8 ratio, with its arrangement of larger and finer single crystal copper conductors, speaks to a design intended to optimize signal transmission. The independent insulation of each conductor is a detail that suggests attention to detail and a desire to minimize interference between frequency bands.
The Nyx Net’s compatibility with ddHiFi’s replaceable connectors (MMCX and 3 types of 0.78-2Pin) is a major plus. The interchangeable pin system, a collaboration with Eletech, is a smart move, offering broad compatibility with various earphones.
The inclusion of different housings for the 0.78 pins to accommodate varying socket depths is a thoughtful touch. I also appreciate the fact that the “Nyx-Pin” connectors on the cable are internally the same as the “Versa” connectors sold separately, offering flexibility for users.
The metal housings on the connectors, with their clear L/R markings, are a welcome detail.
The inclusion of flexible ear guides is also a practical addition, making the cable more comfortable for extended listening sessions, especially on the go.
The Y-splitter and chin slider are well-designed and contribute to the cable’s overall aesthetic. The polished finish on the Y-splitter and the metallic chin slider give the cable a premium feel. Importantly, these components also help keep the cable manageable and tangle-free.
The 4.4mm plug’s shielding design, with its connection to the fifth segment and the injected molding process, seems robust and well-thought-out. The distinction between the standard insert molding process and the Pentaconn’s manual adhesive bonding is worth noting, though in my testing, both felt secure. The standard version’s housing, with its silver finish and gold accents, is a nice touch.
Overall, the build quality of the BC130 Nyx Net is impressive and consistent with what I’ve come to expect from ddHiFi. It feels like a well-made and thoughtfully designed cable.

Sonic Impact of the ddHiFi BC130 Nyx Net Upgrade Cable:
Oriveti OH700VB + ddHiFi BC130 Nyx Net:
Bass:
Using the ddHiFi BC130 Nyx Net with the Oriveti OH700VB significantly enhances the bass response. The tighter and more controlled bass frequencies provide improved definition, ensuring that the low-end is impactful yet precise. This reduction in muddiness is particularly noticeable in complex basslines and electronic music, where each note can be distinctly heard. The enhanced sub-bass extension allows the OH700VB to delve deeper into the lower frequencies, providing a richer and more immersive bass experience.
Midrange:
The midrange of the OH700VB becomes more transparent and detailed with the Nyx Net upgrade cable. The improved separation between instruments and vocals results in a clearer and more engaging sound. The cable enhances the presence of vocals, making them sound more forward and natural, which is especially beneficial for vocal-centric genres like opera, pop, and acoustic music. The slightly darker midrange presentation of the OH700VB is complemented by the cable’s ability to bring out the nuances in this frequency range, ensuring that instruments like guitars and pianos have a rich and full-bodied sound.
Treble:
The treble frequencies of the OH700VB are smoothed out and refined with the Nyx Net, reducing any harshness or sibilance. This is particularly advantageous for long listening sessions, as it minimizes listener fatigue. The improved treble extension adds airiness and openness, making the overall sound more lively and dynamic. This enhancement is crucial for genres that rely on high-frequency detail, such as classical music and jazz, where the shimmer of cymbals and the clarity of string instruments can be fully appreciated.
Soundstage:
The soundstage of the OH700VB expands with the Nyx Net cable. There is a noticeable increase in both width and depth, creating a more spacious and three-dimensional listening experience. This improved soundstage allows for better placement of instruments and vocals, making it easier to discern their positions within a track. This enhancement is particularly beneficial for live recordings and orchestral performances, where a realistic sense of space adds to the overall immersion.
Campfire Audio Astrolith + ddHiFi BC130 Nyx Net:
Bass:
When paired with the Campfire Audio Astrolith, the Nyx Net cable provides a well-textured and controlled bass response. The enhanced extension into the sub-bass region allows for a more defined and impactful low-end. The bass remains tight and balanced, avoiding any overpowering or boomy characteristics. This balance ensures that the bass complements rather than overwhelms other frequency ranges, making it ideal for genres like rock, metal, and electronic music, where a solid bass foundation is essential.
Midrange:
The midrange of the Astrolith gains clarity and detail with the Nyx Net. The natural and clear midrange of the Astrolith is further enhanced, with improved separation between vocals and instruments. The cable’s ability to bring out richness and presence in the midrange ensures that vocal performances are rendered with a sense of realism and emotional impact. This enhancement is particularly noticeable in genres like folk, acoustic, and jazz, where vocal clarity and instrument timbre are crucial for an authentic listening experience.
Treble:
The treble frequencies of the Astrolith become smoother and more extended with the Nyx Net. The 6mm planar driver excels in reproducing high-frequency details, and the cable’s improved extension and airiness add to the overall clarity and resolution. The treble remains free from harshness or sibilance, making for a pleasant listening experience, especially in genres that require precision and detail, such as classical music and ambient tracks.
Soundstage:
The soundstage of the Astrolith is wide and spacious, and the Nyx Net further enhances this characteristic. The cable adds a greater sense of openness and airiness, making the music feel more expansive. The precise imaging and fast transients of the Astrolith are complemented by the cable’s ability to improve instrument placement and separation within the soundstage.
Conclusion:
After extensive listening with the ddHiFi BC130 Nyx Net, I’m convinced it’s a worthwhile upgrade. The unboxing experience immediately conveyed a sense of premium quality, from the minimalist packaging to the tactile feel of the titanium alloy components and fiber mesh sleeve. The cable is comfortable, tangle-free, and robust—a welcome combination. The versatile connectivity with interchangeable connectors (MMCX, 3 types of 0.78mm 2-pin) is a great highlight.
Sonically, the Nyx Net impressed with both the Oriveti OH700VB and the Campfire Audio Astrolith. With the OH700VB, the bass gained definition and control, the midrange became more transparent, and the treble smoothed out with added airiness. The soundstage also expanded noticeably. Paired with the Astrolith, the Nyx Net further refined the bass texture and control, enhanced midrange clarity, maintained the smooth, extended treble, and broadened the already spacious soundstage.
Priced at $399.99 for the standard 4.4mm version and $449.99 for the Pentaconn OCC version, the Nyx Net offers tangible sonic improvements, premium build, and versatile connectivity.
