HiBy finally released its Brand New RS6 Android music player. HiBy has designed the RS6 based on their self-developed Darwin Architecture using the classic R2R ladder array DAC. The latest RS6 has brought several high-tech functions such as R2R ladder DAC array, Linear FIR Filter, Non-linear Harmonics Control, Switchable Oversampling/NOS bypass on a portable device.
HiBy RS6 has an open Android 9 OS with full 16x MQA decoding support. It has systemwide bit-perfect audio with HiBy’s Direct Transport Architecture. HiBy has designed it with four output ports, two headphones out with one 3.5mm single-ended and another 4.4mm balanced, and same both separate line-out ports.
It will have a smooth UI (User Interface) thanks to the Snapdragon 660 SoC chip. The RS6 looks pretty similar to the aesthetic R6 2020 and features also a large 5” full HD 1080P display. Though the chassis is now full copper (Champagne Gold) while the OG R6 2020 had aluminum chassis.

The Darwin Architecture:
For the latest RS6, HiBy has designed a brand new digital signal processing architecture, known as the Darwin Architecture. They have designed this based on traditional R-2R ladder array architecture. The system includes resistor ladder linearity compensation. For the first time, an R-2R system is combined with advanced functions such as Linear FIR filter, Non-linear harmonics control, switchable Oversampling/NOS filters, and DSD bypass on a portable device. It is fully configurable, creating endless possibilities for future upgrades on the system.
256-Tap Adjustable FIR Filter:
To preserve the linear phase and reproduce the original sound as the recording artist intended, The Darwin architecture supports up to 16x oversampling filer as well as a NOS filter. The R-2R algorithm is highly adjustable and adapts to different earphone configurations to provide a perfect pairing. You get to enjoy your earphones/headphones to their full potential with the RS6. The NOS mode bypasses oversampling and antialiasing providing a raw and direct signal conversion, while the oversampling mode removes aliasing artifacts and enables all functions of the Darwin architecture. Oversampling mode also allows personalized adjustments to the sound signature.
Complete R-2R Based Amplification Stage:
HiBy has designed the amplification stage for the RS6 completely on the R-2R ladder network. It brings the true potential out of connected earphones with full musicality, energetic, and pure sound signal amplification. It has a discrete component current-mode amplification scheme designed with 1xOPA1642 and 2xOPA1612 op-amps for the current stage. Then the almighty RS6 is equipped with 4 flagship-grade OPA1622 opamps for eight independent channels in a 2×2 parallel arrangement.
HiBy has equipped separate Low-pass filters for PCM and DSD signals. The DSD-specific LPF effectively reduces HF noise caused by the delta-sigma modulation process and provides you with exceptional performance. Now enjoy full native DSD decoding on the R-2R system.
Dual Independent Crystal Oscillators:
HiBy RS6 features dual independent crystal oscillators clocked at 45.158MHz and 49.152MHz providing proper synchronization between the RS6 components. These ensure the player produces quality output signals with great precision and clarity.
Discrete Current-Mode Amplification:
To top it all off, a discrete current-mode amplification scheme is implemented via 1x OPA1642 and 2x OPA1612, supplying abundant current for the output stage to realize stellar dynamic and transient response. This is then coupled to 4 flagship-class OPA1622 opamps for 8 independent channels of headphone amplifications ganged 2×2 parallel; each channel is a combination of voltage and current amplification stages. This is all controlled by a professional NJW1195A digital volume controller for optimal control and ideal circuit dynamics at all times.
Full 16X MQA Unfolding:
HiBy RS6 has full 16x unfolding support for high-resolution MQA files. It retains the maximum amount of data from an MQA stream and presents the users with true-to-life sound reproduction.
HiBy has chosen Qualcomm’s 8-core Snapdragon 660 SoC chip as the core of the RS6. It is combined with 4 gigabytes of ram providing ultimate performance with a snappy user interface. RS6 is loaded with HiBy OS designed around an open Android 9 operating system. It has support for countless music and media application on the play store.
